California State Railroad Museum, in Sacramento California, celebrated its opening weekend for the 25th consecutive year of excursion train operations on the Museums Sacramento Southern Railroad.
First opened in 1976, the complex is one of Sacramento’s largest and most popular visitor destinations. Located in Old Sacramento, it is a complex of historic facilities and unique attractions such as lavishly restored trains, engaging exhibits, and special events.
Special attractions for children are a play area, an interactive area on the second floor, with lots of seating for moms and dads to sit and visit or look down onto the first floor full scale exhibits. There is also a full photograph exhibit “Where Steam Moved Mountains” and the 2008 Photograph winners.
Every weekend April-September, you can also ride behind a steam locomotive on the Museum’s Sacramento Southern Railroad. New for this year is a first class observation-lounge car named El Dorado joining the regular coaches and open-air “gondola” cars.

Good to see you using video --- even with a still in the front?
Now let's work on a short video (no more than 3 minutes) capturing information that is specific to your topic, as well as interviews, maybe your voice narrating what we can see?
